Speed Up Vista With Routine Checks:
Another way to speed up Vista is to run routine checks such as defragmenting your hard drive. To do this, go to: Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter, which will load up the defragmenter. From here you can select either ‘Defragment Now’ which will begin the process immediately, or ‘Modify Schedule’ which will tell Vista to defragment at a set time. You should be defragmenting on a regular basis if you want to speed up Vista and keep it that way. Also found in the System Tools folder is ‘Disk Cleanup’ which you should also run on a regular basis.
